South Boston was previously known for its strong Irish Catholic presence, but now has become home to many young professionals and families who are drawn to the vibrant community and can still enjoy being close to downtown Boston.
Known as "Southie” by it’s residents, is home to Castle Island, the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, and the Institute of Contemporary Art. South Boston is an amazing place to live, visit and go on a pub crawl!
The movie that made Southie famous was Good Will Hunting, filmed in part at the L Street Tavern and other parts of Southie. Check out the neighborhood and grab a pint. You will be sure to leave smiling.
