Brighton is a neighborhood of Boston that is often associated with Allston, and is also bordered by Cambridge, Brookline, Newton and Watertown. The Charles River runs through Brighton, separating it from Cambridge and Watertown. Brighton and Allston boast a mix of both brick apartment buildings and three floor wooden homes. Commonwealth Avenue consists mostly of brick apartment buildings while many of the adjacent streets offer beautiful single and multi-family Victorian homes.

These two neighborhoods are an ideal spot for students to live due to the many colleges and universities in the area. Parts of Boston College and Harvard University are located in Allston/Brighton, while Boston University, Northeastern College and Berklee College of Music are all nearby. Numerous MBTA buses and the Green Line run through both Allston and Brighton, making transportation into downtown Boston easy for residents. Allston/Brighton is known for "heartbreak hill," a most challenging part of the Boston marathon.
