Charlestown is a neighborhood of Boston that is located just north of the city on a peninsula. Historically associated with its traditional Irish-American population, Charlestown is becoming home to many young working professionals and a new generation of residents. Surrounded by both the Boston Harbor and the Mystic River, Charlestown is home to the U.S.S. Constitution, the Navy Yard, and the Bunker Hill Monument.
Both visitors and residents alike enjoy visiting many of the local shops, restaurants and bars that line Main Street and City Square. Boston's Freedom Trail finds its end at the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown, which is the site of the famous Battle of Bunker Hill.
Many visitors like to stop by Warren Tavern, a pub dating back to1780 that claims to be a former favorite of Paul Revere. There is nothing more relaxing than grabbing a pint and a burger here. The Navy Yard is also located here where you can live in some of the most exclusive buildings in the city including Flagship Wharf where you can sit and just watch the world go by.
