Beacon Hill

Beacon Hill is one of Boston's oldest and most historic neighborhoods. The community is bordered by Beacon Street, Cambridge Street, Bowdoin Street and Storrow Drive. It is hard to imagine that Beacon Hill only covers about one square mile because of its endless amounts of amazing restaurants and shops, but it’s true. You will never run out of things to do.

The Hill is famous for its charm. Walking around the area you will notice colonial architecture, brick rowhouses and sidewalks, elaborate iron work and beautiful doors and window boxes. The Massachusetts State House sits at the edge of Beacon Hill, and just down the Hill a bit you can find many shops and restaurants on the famous and pristine Charles Street. Visitors to Boston love to stop by Cheers Pub at 84 Beacon Street, which was the inspiration behind the classic sitcom.

Many famous Americans have called Beacon Hill their home such as Daniel Webster, Robert Frost, Sylvia Plath, Louisa May Alcott, John Hancock, Daniel Webster and John Kerry. Today, Beacon Hill is known for being one of the most desirable neighborhoods to reside in Boston.
